This error appears when the Etsy listing a product is linked to can no longer be found. The listing may have expired, been deleted, or been removed by Etsy.
Error Key: ListingNotFound
How Etsy Listings Work #
Active Etsy listings have a lifespan of 4 months. After that, listings expire unless they are set to auto-renew (the default setting). Expired listings can be renewed for a $0.20 USD fee per renewal. Listings can also be manually deactivated, deleted by the seller, or removed by Etsy for policy violations.
When an update (such as a price or inventory change) is sent to a listing that no longer exists, Etsy returns this error because there is nothing to update.
Why This Happens #
- The linked listing expired because auto-renew was turned off and the 4-month window passed
- The listing was manually deleted from Etsy
- The listing was removed by Etsy for a policy violation (prohibited items, handmade policy issues, IP claims, etc.)
- The listing was deactivated (made inactive) and can no longer receive updates in the same way as an active listing
How to Fix It #
- Log in to your Etsy account and go to Shop Manager → Listings.
- Check the Expired, Inactive, and Removed tabs to locate the missing listing.
- Then choose the right action:
- If the listing expired: Renew it from Etsy (costs $0.20 USD). Once renewed, re-link it in the app and retry.
- If the listing was deleted or removed: Re-publish the product as a new listing from the app.
- If the listing was removed for a policy violation: Review Etsy’s reason, address the issue, and re-publish only if the item complies with Etsy’s policies.
- After relinking or republishing, retry the sync from the app.
Note: When you renew an existing expired listing, its original views, favourites count, and URL are preserved. Publishing as a new listing starts from zero.
