This error appears when a product has no processing profile assigned to it. As of mid-2025, Etsy’s API requires every physical listing to include a processing profile that tells buyers how long order preparation takes before shipping.
Error Key: ProcessingProfileNotFound
What Is a Processing Profile? #
A processing profile (also called a readiness state) tells buyers whether an item is ready to ship or made to order, and how many business days you need to prepare and dispatch it. Etsy made this a mandatory field for all physical listings through its API v3. Digital listings do not require a processing profile.
There are two readiness states:
- Ready to ship — the item is made and will ship within your stated processing time
- Made to order — the item is created after purchase and requires additional production time
Why This Happens #
This error occurs when:
- The product was never assigned a processing profile in the app
- The processing profile it was pointing to was deleted from your Etsy shop
- The product was created before processing profiles became mandatory and hasn’t been updated yet
How to Fix It #
- Open the affected product in the Etsy Integration – DPL app.
- Locate the Processing Profile or Readiness State field.
- Assign an existing processing profile. If none appear, see the related error Processing Profile Missing to create one first.
- Retry the upload.
Note: Processing profiles only apply to physical item listings. If you are uploading a digital product, this field should not be required.
