DPL Etsy Integration automatically checks products between Shopify and Etsy to determine whether they can be linked. The linking process considers product titles, SKUs, product type, and variation structure. Based on the available matches, products are placed in either the Linked Product or Linked SKU section.
How Automatic Product Linking Works #
The automatic product linking process compares products between Shopify and Etsy and determines how they should be linked based on the available product information. Products are grouped into two sections based on the type of match found.
1. Products are compared between Shopify and Etsy #
The app checks the relevant product information on both platforms, including titles, SKUs, and whether the product is a single product or a variation product.
2. Matching products are linked #
When the required product information matches, the Shopify and Etsy products are connected and appear under Linked Product.
3. SKU-based matches are handled separately #
When products cannot meet the full Linked Product criteria but have matching SKUs, they can be connected through SKU matching and appear under Linked SKU.
Linked Product: #
The Linked Product section lists products that are fully linked between Shopify and Etsy. The following criteria determine which products are listed here:
- Products should have the same titles and SKUs.
- If a single product with no variations has different titles but the same SKU, it will be displayed in this section.
- For variation products (e.g., size and color), the variation count, variation product titles, and SKUs must be the same and will be listed here.
Important Note: If overwrite settings are enabled for the linked products section listings, any changes made in Shopify will also appear on Etsy.
Linked SKU #
The Linked SKU section lists products that are linked between Shopify and Etsy based on matching SKUs. The following criteria determine which products are listed here:
- For variation products that do not have an equal number of variant options, such as size and color, between Shopify and Etsy but are linked based on SKUs.
- For single products that have shared SKUs on Etsy and only one product is linked with Shopify, the other products that cannot be linked will be listed here. The order and inventory will be synced for these products based on SKUs.
Important Note: Only orders and Inventory will be synced based on the matching SKUs.
