MerchPIM is now live: AI-powered product information manager to manage, validate, and enrich Shopify product data at scale.

DPL eBay Integration has improved its two-way inventory sync to help Shopify merchants keep stock levels more accurate across Shopify and eBay.

The app already supported inventory sync between Shopify and eBay. Previously, inventory updates were mainly triggered through order activity. For example, when an order was placed on eBay, the app updated the stock count in Shopify to reflect that sale.

Now, the sync works more directly with the actual inventory count.

This means stock changes are not limited to order-based updates. If a merchant manually changes the inventory quantity on eBay, that updated stock count can now sync back to Shopify in real time.

For sellers, this creates a more accurate and reliable inventory workflow.

Why This Matters for Shopify and eBay Sellers

Inventory changes do not always result from online orders. Stock may be adjusted because of returns, warehouse corrections, damaged products, offline sales, supplier updates, or manual stock checks.

When those changes occur on eBay, Shopify also needs to stay up to date. Otherwise, merchants may end up with mismatched stock levels across channels.

With this improvement, DPL eBay Integration helps merchants:

  • Keep Shopify and eBay inventory more accurately aligned
  • Reflect manual eBay stock changes back to Shopify
  • Reduce overselling caused by outdated stock levels
  • Spend less time checking and correcting inventory manually
  • Manage stock with more confidence across both platforms

From Order-Based Updates to Inventory Count-Based Sync

The key improvement is that inventory sync now uses the actual inventory count, not just order-triggered stock reductions.

Previously, if an eBay order reduced available stock, the app could update Shopify accordingly. Now, if the stock quantity on eBay changes, that change can also be reflected in Shopify.

This gives merchants a more complete two-way sync experience, especially when they manage inventory from both Shopify and eBay.

Built for More Accurate Multi-Channel Selling

For Shopify merchants selling on eBay, even small inventory mismatches can lead to overselling, canceled orders, refunds, and extra support work.

The enhanced real-time inventory count sync helps reduce those risks by keeping both platforms closer to the same stock reality.
